My areas of practice

I have a special interest in helping adults with sleep difficulties, including chronic insomnia, an area in which I have extensive training and experience. I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), the gold-standard, first-line treatment for insomnia. CBT-I is designed to improve sleep quality and reduce sleep-related distress. A typical CBT-I program involves 6–8 sessions and includes components such as:

  • Sleep education

  • Sleep hygiene

  • Stimulus control therapy

  • Sleep restriction therapy

  • Cognitive therapy

  • Relaxation training

Beyond sleep concerns, I support individuals coping with new medical diagnoses and chronic health conditions (e.g., neurological injuries and diseases, tinnitus, IBS). I also work with clients managing excessive worry, health anxiety, perfectionism, stress, burnout, grief, and major life transitions.

My approach to therapy

I am committed to providing individually tailored interventions that are guided by scientific research. I primarily draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), while also integrating elements of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. As a therapist, I strive to create a warm, authentic, and supportive environment where clients can express themselves openly. My approach is collaborative and goal-oriented, combining my clinical expertise with each individual’s personal experiences and perspectives. Throughout our work together, we develop personalized treatment plans and regularly review progress to ensure therapy remains effective and aligned with each client’s needs.

My background

I am a Registered Psychologist (#2290) with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia. I completed my Master’s and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Queen’s University, including a CPA-accredited residency at the University of Manitoba. My graduate training provided experience in addressing concerns related to sleep disorders, management of chronic health conditions, anxiety, mood, and adjustment issues, as well as neuropsychological assessment and cognitive intervention.

In addition to my practice at Changeways Clinic, I am a staff psychologist at a physical medicine & rehabilitation hospital, where I provide individual therapy, neuropsychological assessment, and group CBT-I. I also teach and supervise trainees and early-career clinicians. My prior research has mainly been in the areas of cognitive functioning and neuropsychology. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, cooking, and getting outdoors.
