Our Response to Covid-19

Changeways Clinic is committed to the mental and physical health of our clients.

In keeping with recommendations from the Government of British Columbia, the College of Psychologists of British Columbia, the British Columbia Psychological Association, and the Canadian Psychological Association, we have temporarily changed our way of offering service.

To schedule an appointment, the best option is to email the clinic at clientservices@changeways.com. If your provider has given you their own email address, you can also email them directly.

Remote Appointments

For the time being, most client appointments are offered remotely via easy-to-use internet conference using encrypted video-plus-audio services such as Zoom. Your provider will send a link via email that you can open to join the meeting. You will not have to download any software to do this. Some providers are also able to schedule telephone appointments if you prefer.

You will also be emailed a consent form specific to receiving remote services that outlines the types of concerns that people may have about this form of meeting. You will be asked to sign this form and return it to us by email or regular mail.

Your provider will conduct your meeting from a secure and confidential space. We strongly encourage you to likewise find a private space for the meeting where you will be comfortable discussing private matters without distraction, interruption, or the concern of being overheard by others.

In-Person Appointments

Several of our clinicians are able to offer a small number of in-person appointments at our offices on Willow at Broadway. During these appointments every effort is made to ensure optimal social distancing, and touched surfaces are cleaned after each appointment.

We ask that you bring AND wear a mask when in the public areas of the building and clinic.

If you have an in-person appointment scheduled and ANY of the following is true, we will be unable to proceed with the appointment. We ask that you DO NOT appear at the clinic. Simply call us to let us know and we will reschedule or book a remote appointment from your home.

If, in the last 14 days, you have:

  • Returned from travel outside of Canada.
  • Been in close contact with anyone diagnosed with Covid-19.
  • Lived or worked in any setting that is part of a Covid-19 outbreak.
  • Been advised to self-isolate or quarantine at home by public health.

Or, if you have new onset of any of the following symptoms, for any reason:

  • Fever
  • Cough (new or worse than usual)
  • Shortness of breath
  • Diarrhea
  • Nausea and/or vomiting
  • Headache
  • Runny nose / nasal congestion
  • Sore throat or painful swallowing
  • Loss of sense of taste or smell
  • Loss of appetite
  • Chills
  • Muscle aches
  • Fatigue

We will not charge a fee for late cancellations due to any physical symptom during this time.

We look forward to a return to our usual method of delivering our services.
